*Who am I?
My name is Jennifer Werner and I've been living in Bellingham, WA with my husband and two boys since 2004. Currently, I stay at home with my two young boys, Finn and Ross. Before that, I was an elementary school teacher for seven years. I went from 60 hour work weeks and working under constantly changing conditions, to working 24 hours a day with an extreme level of monotony. I was living in a brand new community with few friends and I really wanted to find a way to better interact with it. About two years ago I realized I was doing just that without even knowing it. I engaged with my community on a local basis, almost daily. I either shopped locally, took my children to local activities, gardened locally or just talked to my friends and family about local happenings. I was home.
